How can I let the outstanding Philae Lander happening go by without you're writing down your analysis of this important event. Here's the link to the BBC's coverage http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-30034060 Read it, see the pictures already delivered by Philae, and write at least ten points of importance out of this article in essay format. As always:  write three-full pages, double-spaced, normal font, normal APA margins.   If you add two additional sources to your essay to enhance your coverage, great.  Also, write why this event may have positive political and economic benefits for the scientists who took part in the development and delivery of this space event, and tell me whether this event is important to you or not and why. Hello Students and Everyone, I have just read a very interesting article in the National Security section of The Washington Post titled, "Legal memos released on Bush-era justification for warrentless wiretapping," by journalist Ellen Nakashima.  Click at the "h" for http:" on the following url to read it at: http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/legal-memos-released-on-bush-era-justification-for-warrantless-wiretapping/2014/09/05/91b86c52-356d-11e4-9e92-0899b306bbea_story.html?tid=themost_item_1   The article is interesting because it's about wiretapping that continues today as well by our present government.   So, I've decided to offer this article as your first "extra plus point" project.   Please follow the Essay format of instructions below.  A possible 5.00 points can be earned if followed correctly and handed in on time on the due date of next Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at the beginning of class. Hello Everyone, This is a time where we can see how our national government reacts to the provocations of President Putin of Russia, with his 30,000 manpower of military surrounding the Crimean peninsula of Ukraine. What do you think?  Should the U.S. be aggressive up against the Russian occupation of Crimea, or should the U.S. only use diplomatic means and sanctions to bring the Russian President to his senses? Also, what kind of economic and political repercussions could affect world economy, energy, and globalization because of the escalating situation in the Crimean peninsula? To my students:  your analyses in a one page blog format to these questions could bring you 3 plus points. Make a try for it! Angela Oberbauer, M.A. Political Science Program San Diego Mesa College
Happy New Year to Everyone reading my blog. Great that Both Houses in Congress could reach agreement on the Budget with the President signing off on it. Let's see what happens now with the Default Debt issue and how and when that will be resolved. I'm curious:  What do you think about Governor Chris Christi, and do you believe him when he stated today that he knew nothing about the political and governmental manipulation that went on, according to him today, behind his back? I'm curious! Angela
