Hello Everyone,

Here's your new [optional] extra plus point assignment worth a possible 5.00 points that many of you have been asking me to put here in my blog.

Again, you will have two articles to read, compare and summarize, and then give your opinion on the following issue: "The 52,000 plus children, and mothers with babies from Central America that are crossing the U.S. boarders."

Article I, is from the New York Times, written by Carl Hulse, July 7, 2014 at:


Article II, is from the Independent Voter Network, written by James Spurgeon on July 10, 2014 at:


Both articles have a lot of interesting information in them.   Please follow the instructions carefully.
Plus Point Instructions: Those who do not follow the instructions will be docked.
1.  Read each article carefully.
2.  Type 3-full-pages:  
     --on page one, summarize the New York Times article, giving the article's name, credit the author,     
        and be sure to include important information the author points out on this law and issue. 
     --on page two, summarize the Independent Voter Network article, credit the article's title, credit the 
        author, and be sure to include important information the author points out on this law and issue.
     --on page three, give your opinion as to how this issue should be resolved, and use two sources, 
       printed out to back your opinion and attach your sources to your three printed out pages.
3.  Further instructions:  
     ---each page must have at least 23-25 lines of complete information, double-spaced.
     ---normal margins, left, right, upper and lower as well.
     ---Only type your name in either top left or right hand corner of the first page, then number the 
         following pages. 
Due Dates are below,  and this assignment is to be handed in at the beginning of class, NO LATER!
The M/W class must hand in this extra credit assignment this coming Monday, July 14, 2014.
The T/Th class must hand in this extra credit assignment this coming Tuesday, July 15, 2014.
